LMAO. Rick Perry. Seriously. "Islamic" is not synonymous with "terrorist". He has no actual intelligence or any leaderships skills to speak of, so he just vomits hatred and tries to explain it with the bible.

What other reason would they use to end a file sharing site? For what reason two bills currently in the house and senate are supposed to end? Probably so they can show they'll still shut down sites unrightfully with or without some stupid bill.

Just downloaded something from there this morning. Thats honestly a bunch of BS. Megaupload themselves weren't the ones doing the piracy, it was the users that were doing so, which they did aid in to stop when they could. Another thing that is interesting is that site is not hosted within the US, so how exactly do they have a right to shut it down?

They're trying to control everything we do. In real life and on the internet. This god damn country is a joke now and its because of the people we put in office and put in power. And those that say Obama is going to veto SOPA, your full of SHIT.

Obama gets elected again you can say good bye to your damn freedom next. They're already technically violating our freedom with this internet shit.

Obama may be the president, but there is only so much he can do. Pretty sure he couldn't get away with veto-ing everything. He doesn't write the laws, Congress does.

This is the President that wants MORE Government! Do you want MORE government? I hope not or else we will be China in 20 years or LESS.

He could easily veto anything he would like, or even write in new laws with the congress. But hes too much of a puppet to do any of that.

If Megaupload does not go back up, that will be 4% of the internet bandwidth GONE. If the FBI is going to start taking down sites like that for piracy uploaded by users, might as well kiss Fileserve, Mediafire, Gamefront and box.net goodbye.

Also, Annonymous the hacking group (not 4chan) has taken down the justice.gov site.

Just saying, Megaupload had much more than just copyright infringement going on.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-16642369

Quote :
The charges included copyright infringement, conspiracies to commit racketeering, copyright infringement and money laundering.

A federal court in Virginia ordered that 18 domain names associated with the Hong Kong-based firm be seized.

The Justice Department said that more than 20 search warrants had been executed in nine countries, and that approximately $50m in assets had been seized.

It claimed that the accused had pursued a business model designed to promote the uploading of copyrighted works.

"The conspirators allegedly paid users whom they specifically knew uploaded infringing content and publicised their links to users throughout the world," a statement said.

"By actively supporting the use of third-party linking sites to publicise infringing content, the conspirators did not need to publicise such content on the Megaupload site.

"Instead, the indictment alleges that the conspirators manipulated the perception of content available on their servers by not providing a public search function on the Megaupload site and by not including popular infringing content on the publicly available lists of top content downloaded by its users."

Before it was shut down the site posted a statement saying the allegations against it were "grotesquely overblown".

"The fact is that the vast majority of Mega's internet traffic is legitimate, and we are here to stay," it added.

"If the content industry would like to take advantage of our popularity, we are happy to enter into a dialogue. We have some good ideas. Please get in touch."

I do believe you are exaggerating slightly. I really wasn't interested in politics when I was 14, so i'm not entirely sure how much shit I would be giving him if it were George Bush. Do I want more government? No. Do I want different government? Yes.

And this 'different' government will be one that will take over your damn lives if we keep voting for pathetic scum like Barack Obama and all the fucktards we tend to vote for to put in power.

I don't think you or many understand what our government is trying to do, and NOTHING. I repeat, NOTHING is being done about it by our wonderful President. People need to wake up.

It's not just the President. Congress is the group responsible for making laws, including those that expand government oversight.

It's a catch 22 for the President. Either veto bills and send Congress into gridlock or pass them and then be criticized. There's no win, especially with different parties controlling Congress and the White House.

Did I say it was "Just the president"? Go ahead make as many excuses up for the idiot as you can though.

The only one who gives a crap about this country and the people in it seems to be Ron Paul right now. The rest of the idiots in DC are basically sittin' back, smokin' a cigar and counting there damn money while laughing there butts off at Ron Paul. This Country is a joke now and Obama has done nothing to help. So much for his "change". He sucks, congress sucks, the senate sucks. All of them are on the same damn boat and its about making money to them and being in power.
