PostSubject: Barbers Motorsports Park   Barbers Motorsports Park EmptySat Feb 11, 2012 1:06 am

Well now that I've got all my paint schemes done for the next seasons, I thought I'd tried to get back to track making. I still have the track that I started on like 2 years ago, and I've noticed I had a lot done. But, there is still a lot left to do. So, I'm going to get back to working on it. I'm going to need some help to get it done. I'm not good at track side objects, so I was wandering if anyone would like help out on this one (*cough* Brian *cough*). I'm going to do all the trees around the track and what not, but I'll need help with grand stands, people, and other things.

Here is what I have so far. I still gotta do the banking in some parts, and get the grass & hills to line up. And then, go a do the sand traps, walls, and rumble strips (which is just concrete). (This photo is not what has all been done, it's just a photo that I had saved. I have more done than this shows.)

Stage 2 of what I have done. Got most of the rumble strips in and done of the sand pits done as well. Going to work on it more today and hopefully try to get a beta out by this evening. The only part that is not 99% correct is the sand pit in the tight esses part. I could put those out far enough b/c of the tight left hand corner, but I got it pretty close. I've been using an overhead view of the track as well as on board videos to make it close as possible. Still got some work to do, but it's getting closer every min. Time to get back to work.

Stage 3 of the process. Got all of the sand pits and rumble strips in. Took me forever. Even went back and added somethings that I missed of the first go around. Like run offs and shapes of the sand pits. Now it's time to work on the one thing I can't stand most, banking and heights!!! Thought I'd get a Beta out tonight, but I don't think that's going to happen...

Yeah, luckily I had most of the heights already done. All I really have to do is add in banking in parts of the track and smooth it out, b/c it got pretty rough when I split up the track adding in curbs and the sand pits.

Update #4:

Well the past 2 days have been a lot of progress. I now have all the banking and heights in the race track. Now I'm at the stage of doing the heights around the track (the grass hills). I'm trying to get it a close as possible and make it as real to the track as I can. Yesterday, I did have to back track. I had to delete turns 1, 2, & 3 and redo them. I had the track so split up in that area, I couldn't get it smooth. But now it's perfect. I'm about 70% done with the hills and what not and should only take about another hour of getting the rest of the 30% done. After that, I gotta touch up the curbs and start on the walls. I hoping to get a decent beta out by Sunday. I want to have everything in it as possible track wise. Then I'll start worrying about TSOs and LPs.

Actually haven't working on this in a while. But I was actually going to start working again on it next week. With the Indy Series maybe starting next seasons, it might be a good idea to try to finish it, lol.

Getting back to work on this. Forgot I had a thread for it. But anyways, I've been working pretty hard the past week on this. I've had a to back track a little bit here and there, but overall, it's coming along nicely.

Caleb wanted some pictures, so here they are. (Sandbox photos)
