2012 Sim Indy 500

I am announcing a new NR2003 offline race special for the month of Indy. The rules for this race are as follows:


This is a simulated 500 mile race at Indy, using the NR2003 V8 Indycar mod. There will be up to 60 entries accepted for this race.

The special thing about this race is that there will be 5 chassis to choose from and 7 engine manufacturers.

Each Chassis has little differences, and some will be better aerowise. I have not determined the exact differences yet, but they will not be huge. Also, only 16 chassis are available from each manufacturer guranteering 3 different chassis in each race:

In order of chassis: (Fastest to slowest)

1. Lola
2. Reynard
3. Dallara
4. Panoz
5. Swift



There will also be 7 engine brands to choose from. There will also be performance and reliability differences between engines. Same as the chassis there are limited engine supplies. Each manufacturer is only allowed to produce 15 engine entries. Each manufacturer can be rebadged as something, but the base manufacturer can only run 15 engines.

In order of Speed:

1. Menard
2. GM (Chevy, Cadillac, Ilmor, Holden, Any GM car)
3. Ford (Ford or Cosworth)
4. Mercedes
5. HPD (Honda or Acura
6. Toyota
7. Dodge
8. Lotus/Judd

In order of Reliability:

1. Toyota
2. HPD (Honda or Acura)
3. Ford (Ford or Cosworth)
4. Dodge
5. GM (Chevy, Ilmor or any GM car)
6. Mercedes
7. Lotus/Judd
8. Menard


Qualifying:

-If we get more than 33 cars we will have a full month of qualifying. With 4 sessions.
-Each session will last from 11am-6pm.
-Qualifying order each day will be set at random.
-Each car counts as 6 minutes towards the time
-Each team can use up to 4 attempts in one day
-If a 2nd attempt is taken the first must be thrown out
-Runs until 5pm will be done first come first serve on order of the Q order.

Q will be set into 4 days:

Day 1: Pole Day 1-9 lock-in
Day 2: 10-21 lock in
Day 3 22-30 lock in
Day 4: Bump Day 31-33 lock in

One more note..If you have an existing car you want to use....No matter what engine badge it has on it, you can use it. Even if that engine manufacturer is full
and you have to use a different engine. I go by what is on the entry list.

I am adding an additional engine. The Menard engine that was based on the Buick V6. It shows incredible speed, but may have seriously reliability issues. Only 6 of these engines will be available.
