| Grams picks up win in debut in #51 After making his debut in the #51 car for AG Racing after missing Daytona, Austin Grams drove the #51 to victory in the NC Education Lottery 100 at Rockingham Speedway. Grams had comment after the race in victory lane. "We had a good car, we had top 5 speed all day, but I didn't want to sacrifice the long run by running like hell in the first 20, so we were really conservative and we were working our way up in our runs, but we lost a lot of time in the pits. We ended up getting cautions, and worked our way up to 5th before the final pit stop. We decided to pit and take four tires, with the guys ahead of us taking two. The restart came out and we had the high lane which was a blessing in disguise, we had a lot more grip with the new tires and just creates holes and passed everyone in front. This really helps our chances at a championship and our first goal of getting into the Chase."
It was also announced that Michael DesRoches will run more races on a select schedule in gaining experience. | |
