| My best friend is leaving for basic as well on September 4th. It will change your lives, your friends and family's lives but it will better further yours and there is no doubt about that. If they would let me in the military I would have signed up a long long time ago. I hope the best for you Stephen. Thanks for the kind words everyone. I will still try to post on here some but I just feel my time here as far as racing and being a regular member is done.
Also Matt, sounds like your getting your foot in the door yourself. I'd love to come race down there. Langley Motorspeedway is one of my all time favorite tracks. I got money saved up, got some sponsorship lined up but nothing that will get me a full time ride. I am working now, I work 3 jobs and make the money to probably do a few races on my own without the PT sponsorship but who knows. Something will come up soon I hope.

Yeah I'm trying to get my foot in the door as well (not to race though lol). But like I said, if you get the opportunity to come down here, let me know

| I guess I'll update whats been happening at the hospital. My grandma is taking very long to recover, but she seems to be slowly getting better. We are still getting into arguments with the nurses because they arent doing the things they are supposed to. Today we brought our own registered nurse down from Houston, and she's already pissed off teh current nursing crew for not doing their jobs. My grandma is now being moved to a private room, away from other people because we have so many people there allegedly. In reality its cause she doesnt want to mess with us. | |

Keep checking in bro, I'll speak for myself and say I really do miss you. Everyone on solstice is so close, and when someone leaves it is like a brother moving out of the house. Just promise you'll still come home for xmas dinner <3 What he said^ I'll never forget the great races and conversations we've had. _________________

| You should expect him to try to convince you to join the military lol.
He'll probably sell all the positives and leave out any negatives.

Just be straight up with him. Don't put up with any bullshit, but don't be a douche about it. Read into stuff, that's what helped me make my decision. Since your 17, you have to have parental consent to join. Look into all of your options, and all of the MOSs that the branch provides. And ALWAYS look at it long term.

If your SERIOUS about being in the military you need to do what Stephen said. And to anyone that tells you joining is worthless, or a bad idea. Deck them right in the fricken mouth right away. You get great pay, benefits for being in the military. Its one of the best jobs in the world and I can assure one of the most rewarding. I have always dreamed of being in the Army but because I've had surgery over 20 times I am not allowed to be in any type of military.

| I'm not very serious about joining the military, but I'm not closed minded to it either, it's really not the career path that appeals to me but I want to hear what the recruiter has got to say about it. It's always been something I thought about but never pursued or dreamed about. I'm going to try to not get a biased opinion planted in me either way. _________________ Solstice Racing Winter Proline Truck Series Season 10 ChampionSolstice Racing Proline Cup Series Season 3 ChampionVSR Nationwide Series Season 1 ChampionVSR Winston Cup Series ChampionSolstice Racing ASA Indycar Series Oval ChampionSolstice Racing Road of Champions Class B Champion64 NR2003 League Race winsLatest: 11/16/14 OSW SNC @ Phoenix | |

If you aren't serious, MAKE SURE to tell him that you aren't entirely serious.. He'll leave you some information, but at least read up on it.. It could be a great career choice, depending on what you do.

| I just got done talking to the recruiter, pretty much went down like I thought it would, I learned a lot about the Marine Corps. He was no bullshit about some of the stuff, but he also overwhelmed me with all of the good things about it. my opinion about it hasn't changed much but it's definitely something to look into. _________________ Solstice Racing Winter Proline Truck Series Season 10 ChampionSolstice Racing Proline Cup Series Season 3 ChampionVSR Nationwide Series Season 1 ChampionVSR Winston Cup Series ChampionSolstice Racing ASA Indycar Series Oval ChampionSolstice Racing Road of Champions Class B Champion64 NR2003 League Race winsLatest: 11/16/14 OSW SNC @ Phoenix | |
