PE2 with Team Hot Wheels

Kyle Petty reforms PE2, creates technical alliance with UNSR team, Team Hot Wheels. Jack Stroski and Xander Clements named primary drivers - For Solstice Season 8, Richard Petty Motorsports have taken a hiatus after a partial schedule in Season 7 and late Season 6 with moderate success. In its place, Kyle Petty has reformed his PE2 team and Stroski remains in the Petty family circle as their main driver moving to the #44. With the teams uniting, both will move to Dodge equipment. Also, Hot Wheels will be the primary sponsor for both cars. (THW)(2-7-2012)

Team Hot Wheels unveils 2013 cars -

Jack Stroski and Dylan Smith's Solstice Hobby Stock Series cars unveiled - The Petty's will enter with two styles of chassis...a race tuned Dodge Magnum and Plymouth Roadrunner. It is unclear which model the team will ultimately goes with for the season. When asked, Jack commented, "I'll race either as long as they're fast and we can win with them."

First Race at Daytona filled with Highs and Lows - After 125 grueling laps, Team Hot Wheels came out with a sixth place finish in the form of Dylan Smith, and Xander Clements coming home in thirteenth. However, this race was anything but normal.

Jack Stroski missed the grid after not being able to start the car, and after a near sixty laps of working on the car, the engine grenaded on a startup attempt. Unfortunately, Jack will not receive credit for starting the event, as he never hit the racetrack.

Xander Clements was having throttle pickup issues throughout the entire race, and around forty laps into the 500 kilometer event, he had to come into the pits and pop up the hood. After losing three laps, Clements would fight back to get onto the lead lap with a highest spot in the race of fifth position. After avoiding a first last lap wreck, though, Clements was tagged with wrecked cars of Josh Chin and Michael DesRoaches coming back up the track, and insuing more melee.

Dylan Smith was spun a couple of times, but after narrowly avoiding multiple incidents, he lead the team with a sixth place finish.
