Sherman Avoids Carnage to Take the Checkers Again! After barely making it to the track in time for the race, and putting in a grand total of 24 laps of track time, Sherman used the entire front 98 laps to learn the track. On the final restart of the race, yet another G-W-C, he restarted in the 6th position. He immediately moved to P4 and settled in as the leaders raced three wide.
"You know, I was prepared to settle for that top 5. We're out here running for points. I never expected what happened next."
What happened next was absolute carnage. The #80 of Caleb Paul slipped up into the #93 of Josh Chin, collecting the #8 of Aaron Johnson. 1-2-3 wrecked and Sherman dove to the bottom to take the victory.
"You could say it was luck, we just take the hits as they come. This past few weeks we've just taken some very fortunate windfalls. I feel sorry for those guys, they were putting on a hell of a show, but in the end luck does play a major factor."
