Today in Richmond, Virginia, team owner Matthew Emerson has announced the creation of a new sister team for Flat-Out Motorsports. It will be called FOM-DD (Flat Out Motorsports-Driver Development)
In an interview Emerson said the purpose of this team will be to hire current Solstice Rookies and Veteran Drivers looking to be under the wings of current FOM drivers next season such as Joshua Chin, Kyle Riley, and Cody Erdmann to learn as much as they can to become top notch drivers working their way up to the Proline Cup Series and possibly have the 4th full time ride on FOM in the Proline Cup Series.
Emerson also had this to say....
"I am very excited to bring in up and coming talent to FOM and possibly bring new talent into Solstice Racing for even more extremely competitive racing. I am hoping that myself, Josh Chin, Kyle Riley, and Cody Erdmann can assist the drivers that we sign to help them become the best drivers they can. We will also be hopefully recruiting drivers outside of Solstice Racing to come race starting out in the Dash Series and see if they enjoy it here and hopefully pursue a driving career in Solstice."
FOM-DD has announced the first driver as Brandon Nicholson to run for the team. He will be driving the #91 Toyota Camry full time in the Protoform Dash Series.
Emerson and FOM-DD will look into signing 2 more full time drivers and leave one car open for different part time drivers to run select races to see if they would like to race more in Solstice Racing.
