| Jake May Miss The Daytona 500
After last seasons big crash at talladega fall race when his car flipped over and was struck by another car on the final lap of the race, Jake received a moderate knee injury that required surgery after the conclusion of the 1989 Season. Jake is still recovering from the knee surgery and sat out last weeks Busch Clash. Jake says he feels 95% recovered from the injury. Jake does not want to miss the daytona 500 but he also does not want to risk a career ending injury because of his knee. A backup driver(whom has not been anounced yet) is in line to drive the #2 car at Daytona if needed but Jake says his decision to race or not will come on raceday which is 2 days from now "it will all depend on how I feel on raceday" Jake says. Jake took part in todays practice sessions and did not have any problems in the car.

| Jake is OK after daytona
Jake decided to race the Daytona 500 yesterday but maybe it wasn't the right decision. On lap 3 while trying to avoid a wreck, Jake was struck by another car and flipped over into the grass and barrel rolled some 10 times. surprisingly, Jake was unhurt from the crash he was a little shaken up but his knee and the rest of him was fine. He plans to continue running the rest of the season.
