Lambert Looking to Just Have Fun

Lambert was caught by the Solstice reporters after testing last night and was asked what he hopes to do in this series this season. Lambert had this to say: "I'm not looking for much to be honest, I'm just looking to have some fun. I don't plan on running full time, I'm just here to win races and get track time." Lambert was later asked what hopes to plan to do at Dayonta: "Win (laughs). Not much really. I just want to bring a good finish in the Revocation/Icon for Hire Ford Mustang. My guys here at LMI always build one of the best superspeedway cars, and we're looking to show some muscle from the muscle car."

Lambert's sponsors are very slim. With only Mobil 1 giving Lambert money, that means Revocation Radio is on the car for free. Every time Revocation is on the car, it's coming out of Lambert's pocket. He was asked why that was: "Revocation Radio is a local radio station that plays nothing but the good music, Christian Rock & Rap. There's not that many stations that do that. I'm just trying to get the word out about my favorite radio station. I've got money from what I make in Pro-Line, so why not do something for someone else" We thought it was a nice gesture.

Affliction to Join the #88



It was announced today that the Affliction Clothing Company would sign a 3 race deal with LMI and the #88 Ford Mustang. Some of the Affliction sales personals saw Lambert wearing an Affliction t-shirt this weekend at Pikes Peak. They walked up to Lambert and started talking with him for a moment and offered him a sponsorship on the spot. Lambert was more than happy to have another sponsor on the car to help with funding. Lambert had this to say after the Pikes Peak race and reporters caught up to him:

"Well what can I say? I'm happy to have Affliction aboard here at LMI. Their clothing has always been pretty bad ass, and I couldn't think of saying no. Especially having limiting funding with only one paying sponsor this season..."

Lambert said he is going to work the Affliction design team to help with the paint scheme for the car. All he told us is that it will be dark and simple, but "bad ass" at the same time.

Lambert Forced to Close LMI

After weeks of struggling to keep LMI alive for as long as possible, Lambert has came to a decision. Lambert is going to close LMI for the rest of the season. With Mobil 1 pulling out from the rest of the season, Lambert really had no choice. Considering Mobil 1 was the primary sponsor for the car. Which only left Affliction (3 races) and Revocation Radio (non-paying sponsor). "But never fear," said Lambert, "we have commandeered a ride over at BER (Big Evil Racing)." Lambert will pilot the #25 Impala and will be sponsored by National Guard & Affliction, and possibly another company, no words yet. Lambert said he was okay with it, but just really frustrated with not having any team mates this season.
