2011 was arguably the best NASCAR season in a long time. Five first time winners. Jimmie being kicked from his throne. And then, of course, the epic chase for the cup that literally came down to the last lap of the season. Which moment was your favorite? Is there anything else that could have made this season better?

Personally, despite the finish of the season, my favorite memories had to have been seeing Trevor Bayne, Regan Smith, and Marcos Ambrose winning their first races. All three are very deserving and they earned it.

I wouldn't say there was just a huge moment in just NASCAR, but this year in general in motorsports has been amazing, cruel, and forgiving all around. My biggest memory of this whole year will defiantly be Tony winning the championship and how the whole chase went.

But another memory I will also have is how Dan Wheldon won the indy 500, that was a amazing moment for that team that was slapped together, and would of been a huge moment for J.R. if he was able to win. Also, I know that not many people here like to watch F1 or really understand how amazing the accomplishment that Vettel did this season, but that will also be a lasting memory for me as well, to have a dude that young be able to perform like he did in such a high class series.

Crazy year all the way around.. Hope 2012 is just as good, or will beat it, but keep in mind, this year, in many ways will probably not happen again for a while, which in some ways, is a bad thing, but also a good thing, looking at all of what happened. I hope we have another amazing year next year, but usually, stuff like this only happens every 5-10 years, so I hope all you enjoyed it all.

favorite motorsport memories of the year:

-Going to 4 Richmond races this year (Late Model, K&N, Nationwide and Cup in the Fall)
-C.E Falk winning his 3rd straight title at Langley
-Jeff Oakley whoopin Chris Dodsons ass in the title race at Southside
-meeting so many drivers at Richmond in the spring including Richard Petty and Travis Pastrana
-Timmy winning ROTY
-Seeing Smoke end Jimmies reign of terror lol

except for C.E Falk, my favorite drivers didnt do so well this year like Denny and Lewis Hamlilton. Hoping to see a big turnaround next season!

I will warn you ahead of time that this post is extremely biased. lol

For me, the moment that stood out to me was to see my hero get his 85th career win. Heading into this year, I truly wondered if I would ever see Jeff get back to victory lane. The amount of time last year in which he got so dang close to a victory and either driver error, crew chief error, crew error or just rotten luck would take him out of the running.

The win at Phoenix, and especially how it happened by beating one of the best there is head-to-head, man I think you guys already know how excited I was there! Then the win at Pocono just sealed that win, showing that it was no fluke.

I got real lucky this semester with only having one class on Tuesday (early in the morning no less), so not only did I get to see that race, but to see that epic duel between us and Jimmie Johnson. That win was one of the most exciting by far, certainly had me jumping!

To think back on an amazing career and to see him get back on top and get that incredible victory, that will stay with me for the rest of my life! I sure hope that won't be Jeff's last victory in his career, but if it is, man I can't think of a better way to have it! Of course, with Alan back next year, I expect to have my head getting dangerously close to the ceiling when that 24 car crosses the line first! Razz

Like Mr. Emerson, I have quite a few

-Being able to go to the Daytona 500
-Getting to go into the Fanzone, watching a bunch of cars go through tech
-Witnessing the greatest upset in motorsports with Bayne winning the 500
-The 5 first-time winners in the Cup Series this year, also the couple of new winners in Nwide
-The Atlanta finish, despite being the two drivers I don't like all that much
-Kasey Kahne's win with the 4 team, the most deserving group of guys in NASCAR
-Smoke's aggressive drive at the end of the season since Martinsville
-The whole Homestead race
-Timmy getting ROTY

Then somethings I hope to never forget:
-The whole racing community mourning the deaths of Dan Wheldon, Super Sic

What I look forward to next season:
-Kasey Kahne's season with Hendrick (I expect some good things for sure, but I also am realistic with my expectations)
-Hopefully a good battle in the Nationwide Series for ROTY
-Less Cup guys in Nationwide Very Happy
-Parker Kligerman in more than 1 race with the 22 team

That ever important battle for 20th points battle must have been a great memory for you too.

Okay, I'm just ragging on you and milking a lame joke now.

After an entire regular season of disappointment, Watching Smoke make the chase his b***h was hands down the best memory I'll have from this season. The 2011 Sprint Cup champion Tony Stewart! Man that still hasn't sank in yet lol.

Like Brett said just the fact that it was like he flipped a switch and him and his team came to life was the best.

I'd have to choose...

- Wheldon winning the Indy 500
- Waltrip winning the Daytona truck race
- Trevor Bayne winning the Daytona 500 & Regan Smith winning at Darlington
- Kyle Busch getting parked for a weekend, and getting owned by Harvick week after week
- Seeing Dale Jr. run pretty consistent, almost get 2 wins, and make the chase (go ahead, make fun of me lol)
- Someone winning the Nationwide title who actually deserved it, not some ego-boosting cup driver
- Austin Dillion winning the truck series title
- Tony owning the chase XD
