-Arca, Cup, and Nationwide making debut on repaved Michigan, should be hella fast

-24 hours of Le Mans is this weekend, last year had some wild crashes

Well the track record at Michigan is going to be blown away, almost running 200 mph avg. lap times. Apparently most of the drivers are hitting 218 into the turns, and only getting down to 192 in the corners.

Next session of 24 Hours of Le Mans Qualifying is under way.

84 minutes left for this session. I believe there is another night qualifying session in a couple hours. Audi just went 3:24.9, but the #7 Toyota with Kaz Nakajima was run 3:26.5.

Toyota is right on the edge of Audi's pace.

Toyota's seem to have reliability issues. Hopefully Joest doesnt have his engine explosion button ready like he did in 2011.

ARCA is having some problems already. Tony Marks Racing says there have been a few cautions during practice, and timing and scoring is not working properly...

Nope, restrictor plates.

I don't understand waht the fuck Nascar is doing. With tire wear the cars will slow down anyways.

No restrictor plates planned at MIS: NASCAR officials said they have no plan to add restrictor plates used at Daytona and Talladega to reduce speeds. Vice president of competition Robin Pemberton expected speeds to slow on their own as the track rubbers in and the temperature rises. Series director John Darby said NASCAR has a speed at which liftoff is a concern as is the case at Daytona and Talladega, and "we're not there yet."(ESPN)(6-14-2012)

I've heard 218 going into turn 1.

They clocked Biffle going into turn 1 at 221. It looks like tires are going to be a major concern on Sunday, there are tires blistering all around the garage after only 15-20 lap runs.
