Final lap crash for Caleb Paul results in top ten finish for Sherman
A grueling 125 lap race at Daytona ended with a spectacular crash on the final lap and desperation attempts to get to the front left in vain. After making a run from the back of the pack late in the race after being involved in a late race incident, driver of the #15 Dexter Bowling Shoes Chevrolet, Keith Sherman, pulled off a 7th place finish dodging wrecks on the white flag.
"We had a good car, that was for sure. We stayed out of trouble early and rode around for the majority of the race. That was the strategy all along. We had a ton of cars in the lead draft and running in the middle of it would have been a death sentence. We got single file at the end but I was still able to work with the 93 to gain a few positions on the outside. In the end, it would have been nice to win but from a points perspective, 7th out of 35 is not a bad start."
The Daytona race week was capped off with a 3rd place finish in the short track race Friday night on the temporary course set up on the backstretch.
