FMB Racing Team News & Speculations

FMB Racing will be fielding both full-time rides of Ryan Williams #28 and Josh Chin #93 for the Chase once again next week at Darlington. Neither drivers have missed a Chase field since the team's inception in season 6 when Ryan Williams piloted his #28 Texaco/Havoline Fusion to a 3rd place finish in points during his rookie season.

Rumor in the garage however is that Josh Chin may be parting ways with longtime friend and teammate Williams following the finale at Atlanta this season. The rumor states that Chin has been having conversations with the Toyota-affiliated FOM team housed by Matthew Emerson, a team that is restarting next season.

Williams has also announced today that he is in search of a full-time driver for next season to pilot a second Texaco/Havoline machine after Chevron decided to sponsor two rides full-time. Speculations say the car will most likely be the #42.

CHIN ANNOUNCES MOVE TO FOM, PART-TIME SCHEDULE

After rumors of Josh Chin moving from FMB Racing to the restart of FOM began earlier this week, the two-time Proline champion made those rumors fact by announcing that he will in fact leave FMB to drive a part-time schedule for Season 12 of the Proline Cup series at FOM. Chin did not cite performance or internal team strife, but wanting to run a partial schedule and not take up space at FMB for the decision. New sponsor blipshift will be the primary sponsor of Chin's #93 in an undetermined number of race to be run, along with returning sponsors JDR Graphics, Manly Gamedays and Cheerwine.

We asked team owner and now former teammate Ryan Williams about his reaction:

"Chin and I have been good buddies and teammates since S8 of Pro-Line. It's a shame to see him go to the dark side and hopefully he can get his life turned around. There will always be a spot on the roster for him at FMB and also a spot on the roster in my heart."

"Internal turmoil has been speculated at FMB since the first time teammates Chin and Williams went against each other for the championship. After Chin katate chopped Ryan's office door in half, things became really tense between the two. Publicly, they were able to hide their deep hatred for each other. FOM team owner Matt Emerson was seen taking Chin to the "Love Shack" where it's reported they discussed terms of the contract amongst other things. Chin, Williams, and Emerson were not available for comments.

Crew members said that when Chin took down the office door he screamed 'LOL RETARD BRAWL' and quickly left the building."

After a nice toasty dinner out at McDonald's, Brian Mercurio has agreed to terms to drive the #42 Texaco/Havoline sister machine at FMB Racing.

Mercurio says he will attempt to run full-time next season and hopefully compete for the championship alongside teammate and team owner Ryan Williams.
