Just hard racing. Even if there was contact I'd have felt the same way. Everybody else would be screaming about how big a douchebag Carl is lol. They were both way out of shape racing for the lead.
It was shaping up to be a pretty damn good finish too. Shame it had to end like that.

Carl can be a douche on the track but hes not the douche everyone says. He BY FAR has more class then Kyle Busch will ever have. On the track at times hes no better then Kyle though.

Arca race, Milka Duno on the pole. Qualifying got rained out today, so owners points...yeah. Looks rainy Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday as well. Not sure when they are gonna get the race in. I'd like ot go to it, since the track is 1 hour and 2 minutes away and 2 tickets cost $50...but my sisters confirmation party is tomorrow. If it gets pushed back to like 4pm, maybe...but I'd have ton convince my dad.

Yea, you could see it in his reaction to the whole incident. First thing he did was go to the accident scene and apologize, even if the wreck wasn't his fault. Then he didn't do his backflip, just went straight to victory lane and did his interview.

There should've been another GWC there, but it wouldn't have matter either way... but technically the yellow flag was thrown out before Carl took the white flag lap
The white flag was already out though, so idk how that works
And yeah, Carl Edwards just got a lot of respect from me for checking on Joey and everyone after that, shows he still has some class in him

I thought the same thing too, but there's another angle where you can see the actual caution lights don't come on until Carl is literally right at the s/f line. And since the lights are controlled by race control I think that is the official "moment of caution"

Besides, after a wreck like that, I think it was better that they just let that race end.

Wow, I don't think even 50,000 people are there for today's race. I'm disappointed in you Dover, very disappointed.

People seem to be blaming high gas prices and bad weather this weekend for that. As well as bad promotion.

Dover Motorsports has been a joke the past couple years anyways, they obviously aren't doing something right when they closed Gateway, tried selling Memphis (but ended up closing it, but may be back under new ownership I think), and Nashville's attendance is a joke now too.
Wouldn't bother me any to see Dover lose a race, give it to Iowa or Montreal (hopefully as a seperate weekend from Nationwide) and I'll be happy.

Besides Earl and Johnson pretty much dominating so far, it's cool to see guys like Ambrose and Truex running up there, Allmendinger too before his engine crapped out.

Why would you run Cup a seperate weekend from Nationwide? Alot of people travel from all over up there to see the Nationwide race. Doing a Cup race on a different weekend would end up making people go to that instead of the Nationwide race, thus ruining the attendance.

It was more of a fact that I don't want to see another Nationwide companion weekend, I'd rather see Trucks go up to Montreal and be the companion race to Cup. The more stand alone races the better. Have Cup-Trucks in May at Montreal, and Nationwide-Canadian Tire-Rolex in August.

Way to go! 20th Cup win! Awesome job by Matt and the whole team.
Nice to see Mark Martin and Marcos Ambrose up there. RPM has had a great year so far. Sucks for AJ, though. He had a strong car as well. But I'm pretty sure he'll be the next first time winner.

it seemed like every restart jr. would lose at least 5 spots such a shame they couldn't do anything starting 3rd there. oh well 12th is a lot better than 28th 2 laps down

Should've taken 4 tires. They didn't gain much of anything by taking two. He probably could have at least climbed back into the top ten with 4 as opposed to falling out with 2. We're getting to the heart of the schedule. Now is not the time for him to start slipping.

the reason we dont have as many stand alone races is because of travel and money. like ian said many people travel from all around the U.S to come watch different series. seperating them would just be more of a hassle with money and attendance

I agree, but it's hard to have the Nationwide Race at Montreal become a companion event because then it would probably be ruined by an epic amount of Cup guys.
Simply put, we need more stand alone races on the schedule.
At Montreal though, they could potentially maximize their product if they did seperate race weekends, but hopefully either way Montreal or Iowa can get a Cup Race too.

If you said that Dover deserves to lose a race two years ago, I would had been up in arms. Now? Not really. In fact, not at all.
Everyone here knows that Dover is my home track and it's a place that I care about deeply. There isn't a single event that I look forward to the most than going to the Monster Mile like I will for the 11th straight year this fall. With all of that said, when you can barely put 50,000 people in the seats for a cup race, then there is a problem.
Dover has four big cities around to gain attendance: Atlantic City, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington D.C. If the marketing team cannot bring more than at least near 100,000 people from four cities [three of them major American cities], then that whole dang marketing team needs to be given the pink slip, period.
Also, there is no reason why the prices that Dover has for these cup races should be as high as it is. Yeah they have some of those kid deals, but let's be honest, who is gonna 96 bucks for a high seat in these times? They need to take a page from Michigan and lower the price of every single seat in that facility. Until they do that, attendance will only go lower.

If Atlanta can lose a race, so can Dover.
