PostSubject: Phoenix/V8 Supercars/F1   Phoenix/V8 Supercars/F1 EmptyFri Nov 11, 2011 4:33 am

V8 Supercars are at the Tasmanian circuit called Symmons Plains this weekend, and NASCAR will have two of their series at Phoenix this weekend.

V8 Supercar Race 1: 12:05 AM ET Saturday Morning
Formula 1 Knockout Q: 8:00 AM ET Saturday Morning
Nationwide Race: 3:30 PM ET Saturday Afternoon
V8 Supercar Race 2: 11:35 PM ET Sunday Morning
Formula 1 Race: 7:30 AM ET Sunday Morning
Sprint Cup Race: 3:00 PM ET Sunday Afternoon

Couple notes going into the weekend:

- Kyle Busch has not yet been confirmed by JGR that he is racing, more rumors of M&M's pulling out of JGR, leaving Kyle Busch sponsor less for Daytona and might not race the last two races of this season, if so, Aric Almirola is one of the drivers who are rumored to drive the last two races.

- Phoenix track owners have been working on making the racing groove wider for the weekend, had a special machine lay down rubber into the track, along with 5 ARCA drivers that ran over 3,000 miles in Richard Petty Driving Experience cars.

- Brad Keselowski said on twitter yesterday that the new 2013 Sprint Cup Car bodies resemble the real life vehicles quite well, and that the bumpers are most likely not going to line up.

- Jason Bright found his car on concrete blocks after before-race party to the weekend in Tasmania.

@Hinchtown I don't know what they fed those kids growing up, but the Busch Brothers have serious anger management issues. Maybe Dr. Phil could help

Z-Line Designs has said to take Busch out of their Nationwide car for Homestead. Hamlin will be in it. Im suprised at that. I figured Z-Line would be one of the strongest behind Busch.

Nationwide practice is over 20 minutes in and only 4 cars have gone out. Apparently no one wants to drive on it because it's so slippery

Most of the underfunded teams won't go out til 2nd practice probably. New track means excessive tire wear, and they can't afford that.

This, pretty much. The cars don't need matching bumpers, just a solid contact surface. The trucks were grill to back bumper. As long as there's a solid place on the front of the car to match up with the back of the car then they can two car tango. They should be focusing on the back ends not the front.

If they are modeling the cars off the modern day "full sized" sedans, and they actually look like them, the two car tango has a fighting change, its just gonna be slippery lol.

And looks like Kyle Busch is the first driver having a press conference tomorrow, so I guess we'll see what happens then.

This is just tiwtter rumour, so keep that in mind, but apaprently the company that does wraps for JGR has flown in new wraps to redo Kyle Busch's primary and backup cars. It might seem that' M&M's has opted out.

Figures, TRG brings a decent car for once and the team leaves a fucking wheel loose in practice. Now they're in a backup, with no practice, and they're a GOGH car.

Derp sheetmetal damage. Atleast he had a chance to be in something.

I'm surprised Sorenson of all people was the first to cause a wreck.

JJC outqualified Carl Long too.

Yeah, that sucks for DJ Kennington. He has always been one of my favorites since back when he used to drive the 81 car.
