Rule Changes

· Smaller radiators
o Maximum of 2 gallon capacity
· Smaller overflow tank
o Maximum capacity of ½ gallon
· Radiator inlet is moved up closer into the front center bumper area
· Rate reduction in the springs  softer springs
· Smaller rear spoiler
· Base line restrictor plate of 29/32 inch (1/64 inch larger than plate size for the 2011 Daytona 500)

All of those changes they doing to try and come back to the old pack racing?

yea they've been trying for a year and have gotten nowhere

I don't see why they're trying to do that. I actually like the 2 car tango, even though I prefer the pack racing. The 2 car tango actually bring three nice finishes this year at restrictor plate tracks (Daytona 500 finish - Bayne wins it, Aaron's 499 finish - 8 drivers "killing" themselves for the win and the AMP Energy 500 - this wasn't that good, but Bowyer and Burton gave some excitement to the finish).

I can understand it the last few laps, but I don't see why there is the need to do it 5 laps in...

Because if you don't you'll go laps down while everybody else is.

Because if nobody does it, then one or two pairs will start to do it and then everybody else will have to to keep up.

As long as it is physically possible for them to do it, they have no choice. It's what you have to do to be in contention.

And NASCAR better not do what they did a few years ago and told the drivers not to touch each other in the turns. If they tell them how to race then to me it would be complete BS. It sucks but its what we got right now and its probably not going to change for a while.. And if it does change, it won't change much lol.

They never should have changed to the COT type car it sucks. I mean look were its got us to crappy racing and NASCAR telling the drivers how to race.

Ummm... 2011 was the best year for racing in NASCAR since at least 2003.

your forgetting the whole reason the COT was Put in. there may be a driver or two that wouldn't be here today if it weren't for the safety innovations of the COT

COT hit a low point for racing at tracks like Cali and Michigan up until last year because of the aerodynamics being so far off the previous car. Everywhere else was pretty good with it until the two car tango came along on the SS's. I think the changes NASCAR are doing will work this time around. Especially if they are moving the grill up further.

^Fixed. Also, I disagree with you. The COT had to be done in the interests of safety for everyone involved. Racing has changed, but you can hardly expect a sport with as long of a history as Nascar to stay constant. The racing has been, at times, boring, but Nascar has always tried to fix it and will continue to do so whenever they deem changes are needed.

am i the only one that thinks the racing hasn't gotten that bad?

I think the racing last year was phenominal!

Racing was great in 2010 and 2011 I thought. Just some of it felt a little bit choreographed.. Not fake just.. Not as real to me as it once was if that make sense lol.

i mean 09 was kind of a boring season in my opinion(excluding the plate races) but 07 and 08 had some good racing too
