| So the board of appeals has upheld the 48 teams penalties, but Hendrick is still going to continue the appeals process. When they finally do incur the 25 point penalty, and this is a bit of a stretch, if JJ has a few bad races he'll be out of the top 35 in owners points.
If they received the penalty today they already would be. Another two weeks and we're out of the 5 race carry over from last year.
Obviously it's unlikely they wouldn't qualify on time anyways if that happened but it's still something interesting to think about.

lolwut His team announced weeks ago they are starting a Cup program, and Stacy is a pretty good driver. He'll probably drive for them until/unless they have sponsorship.

| That wing combo looks fucking amazing. I hope they end up with something that keeps it relatively safe, though. | |

| Seems like that will be low on downforce, wouldn't that make those cars extremely loose? _________________ Solstice Racing main Admin. Career Wins: 40 (Last - Daytona, Studio Speed Retro Superspeedway Series) Career Poles: 38 (Last - Atlanta, Studio Speed Cup Series)

| I think lower downforce is the goal. That way the opposite effect won't be as great when a car get's turned/launched. _________________ NR03 Career wins: 15 Career championships: 1 | |

| There is a couple reasons for the low downforce:
The main one, they are trying to match what the handford device did in CART, which was make the cars have low down force so it is much harder to race in a giant pack, but produce spectacular sling shot passing, which was still safer back then with the slingshot passes instead of racing in a giant pack.
The second reason they have the wing like that is that there is no lift when it goes backwards, and also to adjust the angle of the wing, because its not actually connected to the endplates, there is a 3 inch separation.
The way the wing is going to be setup here is not going to make them extremely loose, just difficult to race in a pack, which they will be testing during the early parts of may. They are hoping to get about 15-17 cars at Texas to test it. _________________ R.I.P. | NASCAR released a survey this moring to the fan council asking how the quality of the racing was in Nationwide and Sprint Cup along with the quality of the broadcasts. So I suppose they have heard all of the complaints about the broadcasts, because they usually always ask about the quality of the racing in these. Maybe we'll see something happen in the next month. _________________ R.I.P. | Timo Bernhard was injured yesterday in a testing crash at Sebring. Possibly a fractured Vertebra. He pretty much totaled one of the new Audi R18 Ultra Hybrid LMP1 cars.
