Roush Fenway Racing wrote:
Roush Fenway Racing announced that 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series champion Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will compete for the team full-time in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series competition beginning in 2013, while Matt Kenseth and Roush Fenway will part ways at the conclusion of the 2012 season. "Ricky Stenhouse Jr. has more than proved his abilities on the race track," said team co-owner Jack Roush. "We feel that he is not only a key piece of our team's future, but a key piece of the future of the sport. Roush Fenway is an organization with a wonderful past and present, as well as an extremely promising future, and I can't think of a better candidate than Ricky to usher in the next era of success for the team. Of course, I'd like to thank Matt Kenseth for his many years of loyal service," added Roush. "Matt has been an integral part of this organization for well over a decade, and we are extremely appreciative of his accomplishments and contributions to the team, and will always consider him a part of the Roush Fenway family.
Problem? I can understand if it is on the sponsor end and trying to get Ricky in a Cup ride but still. Leading Points, Wins Daytona 500??????????????????????????

Kenseth doesn't even have sponsorship for some of the races left for this season.

I can see Kenseth going to 3 places.

1. JGR- Logano would be put in Nationwide for 2013 and Kenseth would be the 3rd car. I dont think they would put a 4th car in cup. That would take lots of $$$$$$$

2. Penske- I can't see AJ getting back in that car next season.

3. SHR- Depending on what Tony does with Danica, I could maybe see Matt racing for Tony. Sometimes I even forget that Ryan is in the cup series lol

Pretty sure if anybody is going to SHR they are going to need a almost full season sponsorship. I see Penske being the most likely choice at this point, but who knows, maybe something crazy will happen.

I could see Bass Pro going over to SHR full time next season. EGR has been way off and they already sponsor Tony and Ryan in some races lol

Also, Stenhouse has been driving like the 2010 version of himself. If he keeps it up, I would be nervous as hell putting him in a cup car if I was Jack.

Jennifer ran a decent time in practice but blew her engine after 6 laps. Withdrawing the #0 S&P-mobile so she can use THAT engine. Can't catch a break.

Looks like they are going to do the hot wheels loop stunt here in a few minutes, didn't realize that they will be doing a crossover at the top of the loop with both of the cars at the same time.

Oxford Plains Speedway/SPEED51.com wrote:
NASCAR driver and 2011 Daytona 500 winner Trevor Bayne has filed an entry to compete in the TD Bank 250 on July 22 at Maine's Oxford Plains Speedway. According to the Bangor Daily News (ME), Bayne will drive a car fielded by ACT car owner Kendall Roberts in the prestigious Late Model event. Bayne is the latest NASCAR driver to add their name to the list of competitors in the TD Bank 250 as Kyle Busch, Matt Kenseth, Brad Keselowski and Kevin Harvick have all battled at Oxford in recent years. 2 weeks ago (3 now) at Michigan, Kyle Petty said nows not a good time to be looking for a ride because all positions are taken. And I agree.

Then M.K. goes ahead and schedules to leave his team next year. Now I'm sure someone will make room for him, but who the hell leaves a team, while leading the standings, without even finding a place to go first???? And what could be so wrong at Roush Racing that would make the current (2x) Daytona 500 winner and points leader leave??? How could things be better ???

Apparently Kenseth "has" a deal already set in place with JGR, they are just waiting to see how the Logano situation pans out before they announce it. I think one of the bigger reasons for him leaving was probably the sponsorship problems.

I heard about the sponsor, but that doesn't make sense. Do drivers really give a shit who their sponsor is or whether they have one or not....while they are leading the points???

Yeah, yeah, not having a sponsor is no good because....

BUT M.K. is not in danger of losing his ride. Plus they already have a driver/sponsor lined up for next year to take his place. So I don't understand what the problem is.

Roush racing has been piss poor when it comes to getting sponsors. I've never seen a high level team with so much resources run so many unsponsored cars. Reminds me of Braun racing 2009.

Looks like Roger Penske is either not confident in the B sample of AJ's, or he already knows what's going to happen. Sam Hornish is on the entry list in the #22 for this weekend.
