| Jeez...33 Modifieds and 28 trucks at Houston..and that was 3 hours ago..may be well more now..Meanwhile Thunderhill, 3 hours away, with the same exact rules package gets 5-6 modifieds and 8 trucks. | |

| Watching the GT1 race now...Its sad whats happaned to GT1...The new GT1 cars are basically just GT3 cars with mildly wider bodykits and bigger tires. GT2 Le Mans cars are now faster than these GT1's. GT1 used to be the big beast and fastest GT cars.
That being said...There is 16 minutes leftin the race..Prince Albert Von Thurn Und Taxis leads, but Stephane Ortelli is running him down pretty quickly.

Yep, Eury Sr is now the CC for the 5 team and competition director, while Cook (CC of the 5 prior to this switch) is now with Cole Whitt for the rest of the season. Danica's team remains the same. _________________ Solstice Racing main Admin. - From Charlotte Motor Speedway (NC) PR: Charlotte Motor Speedway officials are pleased to announce Jack in the Box, one of the nation’s largest hamburger chains, as the entitlement sponsor of the world’s premier grassroots racing series, the 19th annual Summer Shootout Series.
“Jack in the Box has more than two dozen locations in the greater Charlotte region and we look forward to partnering with them to promote the world’s very best Legend Car and Bandolero racing,” said Marcus Smith, president and general manager of Charlotte Motor Speedway. “U.S. Legend Cars International sells these race cars worldwide in more than 15 different countries, but the top drivers still compete every year at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
“It’s a summer tradition of family racing entertainment, and we are proud that Jack in the Box will help us showcase it.”
The Jack in the Box Summer Shootout Series begins on June 12 and will run for 10 weeks each Tuesday night through Aug. 21, excluding July 3. Adult admission is just $7 and children ages 13 and under will be admitted free when accompanied by an adult.
“We are thrilled to be part of such a fun, affordable racing series that fans will be able to enjoy all summer,” said Kyra Neubauer, senior regional marketing manager for Jack in the Box. “All in all, the partnership with Charlotte Motor Speedway is a great match for our company, allowing us to support exciting sporting events and our community.”
Charlotte Motor Speedway and Jack in the Box are planning interactive games and contests for fans to participate in at each Shootout event, as well as coordinating fundraising activities to give back to the Charlotte community.
Also new for 2012, Fox Sports South, the Southeast’s premier regional sports network, will televise a weekly 30-minute Jack in the Box Summer Shootout Series highlight show. The schedule for programming will be announced at a later date.
“It’s going to be awesome as a competitor to watch all the other divisions and be able to keep up with everything,” said Tyler Green, a Legend Car Pro division driver and 2010 Jack in the Box Summer Shootout Series champion. “It will also draw attention to the series and draw more fans out to the race track. They’ll see how exciting it is every week and want to experience it in person.”
Green thinks the highlight show will also help drivers gain a fan following or get noticed by other race team owners.
“A lot of these guys that are racing Bandoleros and Legend Cars are looking for exposure and of course, network TV is the best way to get it.”
In addition to full slates of Legend Car and Bandolero action at affordable family pricing, the Jack in the Box Summer Shootout Series will also include unique entertainment such as school bus races; mascot mania; and lawn mower racing.
Competitor registration is now open for the Jack in the Box Summer Shootout Series. Visit http://www.charlottemotorspeedway.com/schedule/summershootout/ to register.
For more information on the Jack in the Box Summer Shootout Series call the Charlotte Motor Speedway ticket office at 1-800-455-FANS (3267) or visit www.charlottemotorspeedway.com.
Connect with Charlotte Motor Speedway on Twitter at www.twitter.com/CLTMotorSpdwy or become a Facebook fan at www.facebook.com/charlottemotorspeedway. Hmmmmm......... Cool to have the series be on TV again(was to be last year but derp happened) and it's got a sponsor now. What about a payout for drivers though. Last time they had them would be 2007 =_=

| 18 year old (or around that), Joey Granatelli, Grandson of 3 time Indy 500 Joe Granatelli, is in critical condition after some kind of odd incident in Las Vegas. From what it sounds like, they were unloading a dragster and something went wrong, landing him in the hospital. I guess Granatelli was planning on going to drag racing, he currently ran karts and the Lucas Oil Offroad Series and Traxxas TORC.
Vegas continues to be awful to the Indycar families though.

- Without a doubt one of the most popular races every year in the dirt racing world is the annual Lucas Oil Chili-Bowl Nationals that take place indoors at Tulsa, Oklahoma. The 26th annual event draws record numbers every year, and early this January we were on hand to bring you all the updates from the annual event.
To the dismay of many fans, the 2012 Chili-Bowl was not televised this past year, but CBS Sports was on hand to capture all of the excitement of Saturday’s main events. Now this weekend CBS will televise the popular event. On Saturday afternoon fans can tune in at 2PM and watch the main events from January.
The 26th annual Chili Bowl Nationals was originally scheduled to air in January on the CBS Sports Network which is broadcast on DirecTV and Dish Network. However, During the taping of the Chili Bowl a decision was reached to allow the Chili Bowl to be aired nationwide across all formats on CBS. This marks the first time the Chili Bowl will be aired on one of the “Big Three” television networks.
What: 26th Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals presented by General Tire When: April 14, 2012 Time: 2pm (EST) Where: CBS and its affiliates
We are asking that every dirt track fan tune in and show CBS sports how big of an audience will tune in for these dirt track events. So set your DVR’s if you can’t make it and make sure you thank the folks from CBS Sports for bringing you all the action from this year’s Chili-Bowl. Pretty cool! _________________ Solstice Racing main Admin. Career Wins: 40 (Last - Daytona, Studio Speed Retro Superspeedway Series) Career Poles: 38 (Last - Atlanta, Studio Speed Cup Series)

| Did you know that the straights at Bristol are not actually parallel and turn 1/2 is actually tighter than 3/4? I never knew that, but look at Google Maps, doing a little editing off a screen cap and it shows D: _________________ Solstice Racing main Admin.
