They might have to put the chicanes back in...Simon Pagneaud just got 2 feet of air over the light rail tracks on the first lap out.

Martin Truex's 2013 car.
By the looks of it, the shark fin is nearly nonexistent! That should make for some better ontrack racing!

The Shark fin is there, it's just clear. Might be even taller than this years, too...

Yeah I was going to say, I might be seeing things, but it looks like the shark fin is clear lol.

It is. NASCAR still isn't sure if they want to install a bigger shark fin or if they want to get rid of it completely. They said they are planning to have a meeting with the drivers who tested the new cars after the end of the testing dates.

I wouldn't mind an shorter one, or it being completely removed. I really hope they get rid of it completely. I think the side force is a huge reason why it's so tough to pass on high downforce tracks.

Side force, bad aerodynamics, pretty even cars... it all attributes. If it helps improve racing, I'm fine with almost anything. As long as it's actual racing and not hollywood yellow flags every 10 laps to please the fake NASCAR fans with falsified racing on restarts...
Variable banking is one thing, but Bruton's idea about cautions is just plain stupid...

They need to lob the shark fin off entirely at any track 2.0 and below. Nobody is blowing over any time soon at Michigan, and if they do, flipping over and rolling a few times sure as hell beats getting sent head on into the inside wall.

And it's not like the teams can't figure out how to cope with the loss of sideforce, as they already did that when NASCAR decided to cut off some of the side skirt. Hendrick just started running soft rear springs and a big trackbar split and got the side force back.

Nigel Melker had what is probably the worst looking accident I have seen in years in GP2.

Any shred of credibility GP2 had as an international development series is out the window after the trainwreck of a race today.

Red flag. GP2 was red flagged for an hour earlier waiting for the helicopter to return for Melker.
