Baker to run tribute scheme in final 2 races:
At Richmond and Atlanta, Nick Baker will run a black scheme as a tribute to his grandfather.

Nick Baker scores top 5 at Watkins Glen:
After choosing to start at the rear of the field, Baker quickly made his way up to 6th after some people made mistakes. Baker then got into the top 5 riding behind Ian Hann for a few laps, but Baker missed a corner braking zone and got into the back of Hann turning him around and ending his day. Baker was riding around in 4th with a good lead over 5th place and was behind 3rd place by a few seconds, too. The two leaders spun out bringing out the first and only caution of the race. This left a fuel strategy race with 18 laps to go, Baker quickly tried to save gas and got into the grass and spun out. He would get passed by Nick Kahrs, but overtook him again a few laps later. With less than 10 to go, 5th place Caleb Paul pitted and Baker passed him to grab 5th for the final time. Baker also lost 3rd gear before Caleb pitted. Baker ended up making it to the finish and earned 5th place.

"It was a good race for us, seeing as I only went off track once, but we were also fast today. I was keeping up with some guys that I haven't ever been able to keep up with at any road course. So that was fun, unfortunately I made a mistake behind Ian and took him out of the race. We got 5th, which was a good finish for me."

Baker says Atlanta is a must win for him:
After having a few chances this year to win, Baker says that Atlanta has become a must win race for him. At his home track, he has never finished outside of the top 5, but he has also never won at the track. In the Solstice Retro Cup Series, or the previous retro series, Baker has yet to win a single race.

"It's been disappointing, that's for sure. Having not won a race at all in the retro series and next week being the last retro race for a little while, I'd like to end it with a win, finally. Atlanta is my favorite track and I feel it's my best track, despite not having a win. For as long as I can remember, I've had a top 5 in an Atlanta race. When it comes to Atlanta, there is an added pressure to me and I feel like I need to make the most of the race. I know there are a bunch of great guys here that can go out and win multiple races, but I am looking for just one win. It's disappointing for sure, but it happens. I'm gunning for it for sure, though. Big race for me and my team."
