| Been watching the NASCAR HOF Ceremony instead of the Football game.. Went back and fourth until they started calling the members up and all the old stories were being told. So awesome. Its on again right now on SPEED if anyone missed it. Way better than a Football game IMO. | |

| Final rules package has been announced. They'll use the same sized restrictor plate they ended the test with, they're opening up the grill slightly and lowering the rear bumper by a WHOPPING 2 inches. - Quote :
- NASCAR starting Speedweeks with restrictor plate that ended test: NASCAR will return to Daytona International Speedway in February with the same restrictor plate that it left with when testing ended earlier this month. Teams were informed Friday of the rules configuration for Daytona, which includes a restrictor plate with holes 29/32nds of an inch in diameter. In hopes of limiting the use of the two-car draft used by the Sprint Cup cars during the Daytona 500, NASCAR officials have made changes that they hope would result in overheating if the two-car draft is used for an extended period of time during the race. The biggest change is the rear bumper has been moved two inches closer to the ground. Teams will have a front grille opening of 50 square inches - it was 40 square inches by the time testing ended last week at the 2.5-mile trioval. The radiator pressure release valve will be set at 25 psi, the same as it was when teams left Daytona on the final afternoon of testing.(Scene Daily)(1-23-2012)

| Cockrum to run Daytona for Sieg Racing: Chris Cockrum's father, Lynn, confirmed on the phone with News/Talk WSB yesterday that they have forged a partnership with RSS Racing [Ryan Sieg Racing] to run the #93 truck at Daytona and possibly more races. The #93 ended 2011 ranked high enough in the points to be locked into the field at Daytona, assuring Cockrum and sponsor Advanced Communications Group (his father's company) a spot in the race.(News/Talk WSB)(1-23-2012) | |

| Modular construction provider ModSpace will partner with Front Row Motorsports in the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for a multi-race primary sponsorship and season-long associate sponsorship of the No. 38 Ford, driven by David Gilliland. The No. 34 Ford, driven by David Ragan, will also carry an associate sponsorship from ModSpace for the full season.
The new motorsports partnership expands an existing business relationship between the Berwyn, Penn.-based company and Front Row Motorsports owner Bob Jenkins. ModSpace is currently working with Jenkins' quick-service restaurant company to build new Taco Bell/Long John Silver's locations.
"I've been impressed with ModSpace and their modular construction concepts and the experience they bring to the table," Jenkins said. "Our companies share some of the same ideals, so it's a natural fit to team up. I'm excited they're going to partner with us on the racetrack now, too."
The new motorsports partnership will help with another type of "building" - the continued growth of Jenkins' Sprint Cup team, which is coming off the best season in its young history. The first appearance of the No. 38 ModSpace Ford is scheduled for the April 14 race at Texas Motor Speedway.

| Koma Unwind has said they will be contacting Tommy Baldwin Racing to see if they can work something out. Of those contacted, O'Reilly, Shiner Beer and Royal Purple all said they can't. Sheetz's Restraunts and 1-800-JunkPro have both been contacted and expressed minimal interest. | |

| SS-Greenlight Racing will run the #07 and #08 Toyotas next season. Ross Chastain will drive the #08 for ROTY. David Starr is gone, supposedly looking around at other teams. His sponsor is eitehr with him or our of the sport.
Todd Bodine has been announced as the driver of Red Horse Racing's #11 Toyota, but Bodine tweeted that they will need funding to run.
My count goes to 25 full time CWTS teams and 21 full time drivers, all of whom are likely to run for the championship. I counted Jason White in the #60, but didn't count Starr.
I also count 31 full time Nationwide teams, with 22 full time drivers running for the championship.
There are 39 teams that have announce full time Cup runs.

| Rumors have Mike Skinner driving the third Eddie Sharp Racing truck. (ESR bought the 33 and the 8 teams from KHI, but they also have the 6 team which is already locked in)
Also there are reports that Jason White bought a truck team, not sure about any details though.

| Sinica Motorsports has partnered with Level 1 Motorsports. Crew Chief Jason Miles will pilot their car in ARCA, Trucks, and possibly a Sprint Cup race.
They will announce their Sprint Cup driver today sometime. Also they will use #07 in Nationwide at Daytona, apparently #93 is taken by a start and park team that barely even has a car to run.

| Not news, but someone on the Sinica Facebook page said they heard Michael Annett will go to the Turner #32 Nationwide car. I'm just wondering if that owuld be possible, because Pilot probably couldn't fund a full season effort. | |

It includes races at: Caraway-2 Greenvile Pickens-2 Langley-3 Martinsville-1 Motor Mile-5 Myrtle Beach-1 Richmond-1 Rockingham-1 South Boston-7 Southern National-4
The Richmond date is the Denny Hamlin Short Track Challenge. I dunno if the Rockingham date is in K&N Pro or UARA.

NASCAR is no different. I'd say Jaun was still in his prime when he came over to NASCAR.

| Thats just a waste for a part time team, I don't see why they couldnt just give her tony's owner points, it's not like he wont be able to qualify on time, if somehow he doesn't he could just use a champ provisional anyways. Danica shouldn't have a problem qualifying on time with SHR/Hendrick equipment anyways, if she does, then there's a problem | |
