The other girl just fucked up. Maryeve Dufault or however you spell it spun out and then pulled into the middle of the track around a blind corner. Trevor Bayne couldn't do anything to miss her.

There is a big storm cell moving towards the track, toss up whether it will hit the track by the end of the race or not.

I imagine Ranger's spotter told him there was a car blocking the race track, that's why he slowed down.

Trevor Bayne was upset because his spotter didn't say anything to him at all, therefore had no idea there was even a stopped car around that corner, or that Ranger would be slowing up for it.

I know I'm not a racecar driver but it seems she easily could have done a quick spin turn from where she had stopped instead of driving backwards and then parking sideways in themiddle of the race track. That's beyond a mistake as far as I'm concerned.

And thats one of the reasons why I'm not a fan of Villenoob, glad Ambrose got him back hahaha
