| After a short talk with FOM driver, Cody Erdmann, Brandon Nicholson says he would love to join FOM. Nicholson, driver of the #91 Elliott Henderson Racing Unsponsored Pontiac in the Solstice PROTOform Dash Series, has had a poor season and lack of funding. Starting only 5 of the 13 Dash races in the current season, Nicholson sits 11th in points, gaining two positions after Wednesday night's Darlington race. Running in the top 10 all night, he had to park mid race. Surprisingly having a great run after weeks of frustration and failure. "This young guy has a lot of hidden potential" Erdmann said the other night in an interview. "We can supply him with a decent ride and funding to finish, and even make races weekly. More wheel time can get this man more experience behind the wheel. With the FOM power-house coming back to Solstice, we decided we need a rookie development driver to run for us in the PROTOform Dash series. Not only will it help Nicholson, but it'll show the world that FOM is back in action. Now that Chin is firing back up the place, I think he (Nicholson) can definitely help the team get back going." Nicholson said: "If we can get out and run more, we'd be able to get promoted soon. Sitting at rookie can be very difficult, especially in this very competitive league. With the new ride, maybe I can get some W's (wins) under my name. I really hope Emerson decides to sign me, I personally think it's a great opportunity. I just wanna thank all these guys for sticking with us through these hard times. Including T-Mobile, EHG, Casey's General Store, Authflorence Manufacturing, CD Tradepost, Do It Best, and everyone else for giving us what little we have." Although this being said, there is nothing official yet. If signed, Nicholson will only be a development driver in Dash next season, and will also be able to run full time Dash unlike this season. Nothing will be changed in Proline, Nicholson will still run part time in the #91 Elliott Henderson Racing Toyota. No number changes have been decided if Nicholson signs with FOM, but it is possible. Again nothing is official. Pending a response from Matthew Emerson. Sponsor/Number changes if signed yet to be addressed. | |
