Really glad to see Mike coming back. I always liked him with Denny but a new cc was needed.
ALSO some big short track news,
Lee Pulliam has gotten his Nascar License re-instated after it was revoked because of his ugly fight with Peyton Sellers and Phillip Morris last season.
......that video is the last seconds of the fight and interviews with Lee and Phillip.
Lee Pulliam was the winner of the VA is for Racing Lovers 300 at Martinsville last year and he is unstoppable at Motor Mile so he will be looking to start a late season charge for the VA state title against C.E Falk. Falk has grabbed 5 wins already this season, including 2 at Motor Mile

Looks like speeds at the repaved Pocono for trucks are right at where speeds were for qualifying last year, for a race setup with no draft.
Based on one of the laps, general time was 55 seconds, which is where the top 7 qualified in the 55 second bracket last year.

"Yeah, quite a few rule changes just came out from NASCAR... Some of them are going to change some things up big time with setup stuff.."
"Effective May 16th.. So we can have a week to get things changed around and get ready for it."
"Biggest thing that will affect the teams is a new minimum side skirt height for all tracks. 1.5" higher left side and 1" higher right side."
"One thing on shocks, one thing on crush panels, shark and deck lid fins at tracks 2mi and longer, that was about it."
Quote from Lee-Bob Waltrip (Nephew of DW) on the iRacing boards in regards to NASCAR and the rule changes...
I am passionate about racing in all forms, but especially NASCAR racing. My family's name is on the Cup and on the Harley J Earl trophy, I have worked on these cars...behind my son, my wife and work, this sport is it. I breathe it, eat it and sleep it.
I cannot stand to see what it has become. The racing is fair I guess, but its not about the racing anymore. Its not about the fans. Its about the money. Its about TV ratings and what companies buy commercials.
There is manufactured drama (see Richmond 1, 2012, and Talladega Rules Package) all over the place. The tires suck because Goodyear put up millions to be the exclusive tire manu. The cars are too easy to drive, the "easier to understand" points system has in fact made guys more conservative....the list goes on.
Luckily for all of us, somehow all the first time winners and Tony Stewart making the most incredible championship run in sports history made last year great. This year? Not so much.
Will the new rule changes help? We'll see at the All-Star race. Will the new cars next year help? I say no. Everything will suffer until Goodyear gets their head out of their rubberized butt.
One massive change? No sir. You need several massive changes.
Dale Earnhardt and both Bill Frances have to be turning in their graves from disgust. Brian France is taking the extremely successful and profitable empire his grandaddy and daddy built him and running it into the ground.
Im not trying to be negative, Im trying to be real.

Rule changes are true and this is their first week of doing them I believe.
As for what Lee-Bob said (wtf kinda name is that? damn drunk rednecks and the names they give their children...) I agree with him on pretty much everything. Would like to see some changes that would help the sport and the racing and take away the manufactured bs we have going on.
