Amphetamines caused Allmendinger's positive test: Suspended Sprint Cup driver AJ Allmendinger tested positive for amphetamines, his business manager confirmed Wednesday. Tara Ragan, the vice president of Walldinger Racing Inc., said Allmendinger was told when initially suspended by NASCAR on July 7 that amphetamines were found in his drug testing sample taken a week earlier. She said the term was so broad that she opted to refer to it as a stimulant. Brand names of medications that contain or metabolize into amphetamines include Adderall, Dexedrine, Dextrostat, Desoxyn, Didrex, ProCentra and Vyvanse. Amphetamines also are used recreationally as a performance enhancer, often referred to on the street as "speed." When overused, they can be psychologically and physically addictive. "With amphetamines, there are a whole slew of things it can be," Ragan told ESPN.com. "When we say we don't know what it is, what we were trying to ascertain is what is it in that grouping? In our head, we don't know. In fact, when the (medical review officer) first called and said he tested positive for amphetamines, the first thing we said was, 'What does that mean?'" Ragan said the hope is Dr. David Black, who runs Aegis Sciences Corporation in Nashville, Tenn., which tested Allmendinger's "A" and "B" urine samples, will help clarify that Thursday when Allmendinger talks to him to be assigned a health care facility for assessment. Meanwhile, Ragan said there are plans to have Allmendinger tested again by an independent laboratory to see whether amphetamines still show up in his system. "We weren't being evasive," Ragan said. "In my head, no, we didn't know what the drug was. Amphetamines was too general for us when trying to figure out what it is."(more at ESPN.com)(7-25-2012)

I don't care about the "cars" in the NASCAR series. All the main series are almost spec so differences are made with stickers
Result on me?? I DON'T FUCKING CARE. GO MAKE THOSE STICKERS LOOK LIKE A FUCKING MINIVAN IF YOU WANT, I WON'T CARE EITHER
In my opinion, racing should be about modified streetlegal vehicles, prototypes-that-look-like-streetlegal-vehicles and open-wheels. That's why my favourite racing classes of all time are :
· Supertouring (real touring cars upgraded for racing) · Group N (almost unmodified cars) · Group B (prototypes that looked like real cars) · 2012 DTM (look like touring cars but 100% space-frame)

Well I guess we can only look at what could of been. Hopefully they aren't pulling out of the Canadian Tire Series, because that might cripple the series.

Very disappointed. That Charger was going to be amazing to look at with a scheme on it.
My guess would be the biggest issue they were facing was the engine situation, guess Penske did not want to sell everything to Dodge and since they didn't have an engine program, they couldn't get enough attention from a team.
It's a shame, maybe something will fill the void in the future, but it's not as shocking as it would've been if this happened in 2008. (When it still had a handful of teams, Evernham, Penske, and Ganassi at least)

-Looks like a 90% chance that Global Rallycross will be added to this year's Indycar finale event at California.
-It looks like Scuderia Coloni will move from AutoGP to Indycar with Luca Fillippi as the driver.

According to a police report, the incident was initially reported as an assault and battery when two women approached police on Broad Street, claiming they had been assaulted by two men, later identified as the Penske brothers, at the yacht club's parking lot.
One of the women claimed the Penske brothers were urinating in the parking lot, and that when she confronted Jay Penske, he “turned and continued to urinate on her boots. He then proceeded to grab her arm and push her. (The woman) also states that Mark before he ran away pushed her and they both then ran to the house on Yacht Club property.”
Police claimed they apprehended Jay Penske attempting to run away from the club, and that they found Mark Penske at the employee apartment after he had fallen down the staircase, suffering several cuts on this right arm.

Great team owners there.
Anyway, there are now 2 confirmed bids to buy what is left of the A1 Grand Prix World Cup of Motorsport. One is the company who came up with the A10 World Series last year. The person who buys it will get all naming rights, etc but they will also get all of the Ferrari chassis and engines used by the series in the 2008/2009 season. Though they really should just come up with a new car, that Ferrari wasn't all that great.
